Warm up
• Marcus did a good off-beat singing exercise
NOTE: All-day rehearsal notes referred too before singing each song.
It Don’t Mean a Thing
• Pretty good sing thru
• Bars 88-89 – this is sung as a champagne cork a la Jamie! Start loudish, then sink down then rise to sing a fulsome Aint
• Then the final bars are staccato
Africa
• We sang as far as the difficult section, beginning to really take shape
• T/B – really push out those words that are sung on the beat
• We all need to practice that hard section for next week
Vox Vibe
• Crescendo at last Va nah nah then reduce volume back into the Ba dop sect
• SOP 2 to stand in middle – all of us to watch them when they come in for the last Wey ..
One for my baby – howditgo?
Take Five
• Sung at a slower pace it sounded infinitely better. Gives time to sing the words
• Now need to
Rhythm of Life
• All – practised section Doo Bi going back to Oh the Rhythm of L on the correct note.
• 3 beats for L of life and quarter for f worked really well at the end
• Learning words and heads up will help

Uptown Funk
• Some weird tuning by A2 (Louli mostly)
• S/T/B /A1 – getting tighter on rhythm sections after Uptown Funk at the end
• Sounding tighter generally
• Those with verses – T / A2 / S1 – sing out clearly and loudly so all lyrics can be heard
Dance moves
• Needs practice to go from each Group’s set bit into the final section:

– Pat – Break it Down now
– R clap clap, L clap clap R clap, L pat pat, R clasp – Dance,
– R clap clap, L clap clap R clap, L pat pat, R clasp – Dance to the Rhythm *
– R clap clap, L clap clap R clap, L pat pat, R clasp – Dance to the Dance to the Rhythm, the rhythm of your own drum

Dance to the Rhythm * – start singing on Clasp of hands

AOB
• Juliana to send list of song order for gig

• Narratives

– Main instruction from Robin is act OTT , this will probably be about right for the audience
– aim to speak loudly, clearly and slowly, avoid fast paced mumbling in the accent you have chosen 😊

Songs for next rehearsal: Africa, Men/Women, Uptown , Route 66, Rhythym of L, Dance moves, White Winter H
