Fun rehearsal with six singers, very good to have Rob S back with us. Music all round generally sharper. Spent 15 minutes of “warm up” song
Tourdion: Singing went well.
Havana: Rob tightened our phrasing throughout. Especially bars 42-49.
Dance: singing went OK, Rob asked basses to pronounce “ts” background more from the abdomen than the mouth. There was no actual body percussion practice; Rob S was asked, and agreed to allocate singers to group 1 and 3 and that we all need to learn group two. In the break, LS and PV practiced group 2. We all agreed to add dance moves to future rehearsal warmups.
White Winter: Singing went well.
Fum Fum Fum: Singing went very well for first time out.
AOB: discussed preparations for first taster session. WT reported that no
messages were received in web contact link. PJV reported that he had placed adverts in 4 facebook groups and 3 newspapers, but no feedback. (Update: on Wednesday, Facebook reported one going response and one interested in going response)
SC stressed need for sheet music: we agreed to assume for up to 5 “guests” and printing duties shared out follows: 5 copies each from LS of “Fum Fum Fum”, SC of “Java Jive”, PS “I got Rhythm” PV “Take 5”
LS to produce (stick on) name labels for Wrablers and guests
PV suggested that someone act as sentry to community centre front door till 7pm to shepherd guests.
PV suggested we organise a simple “buddy” system to help guests through the evening
PV suggested we produce a couple of cakes for the interval (PV offered to produce a banana cake)
AOB Other: LS asked for responses to her email about moving Christmas social evening from Tues 15 to Wed 16. General response was its too early to say.
Rob S announced that he will be away on family business from Nov 6-20. This means that he will miss an all day rehearsal on Nov 15.
