Chair: RM

Attendees: WT/JB/LS/MS/KM/SL/JP/JL/MM/SE/DD

Apologies: Duncan

Warm-up Song – Man of Constant SorrowJuliana

Juliana introduced additional verse with two lines each boys/girls respectively. Rhythm much better and ending spectacular

Sinner Man – Jill

1st outing for this song and although it is a relatively easy song  we progressed well under the iron rod of Jill. Jill insisted on using protocol agreed for rehearsing songs ie small groups to help highlight weaknesses. It was generally agreed a longer session for a new song is beneficial. We dedicated 50 minutes to this one. The ending is a bit tricky but easily sorted.  Next time off book please.

BREAK: somewhat extended as it was Janette’s birthday and there were lots of goodies courtesy of Sally and Daniel. Thank you.

NB: And a reminder to check if folks have food allergies, we thought Daniel was a gonner.

Sloop John B – Wendy with a little help from a friend

Worked on a small section where the timing needed particular attention. A worthwhile session. It is clear we benefit more from our rehearsals if fewer songs are worked on for longer periods of time.

AOB:

Voice Range: do it before next rehearsal please and email Juliana https://members.wrablers.co.uk/2011/12/06/find-your-vocal-range/

Summer Gig: we need to wait for at least a week to find out when Songlines gig is so there is no conflict. Also Daniel and Janette will check out an alternative venue next week near Southwark station, Jades new venue.

Next rehearsal: chair Kathleen

Songs:  True Colors – Sally, Sinner Man – Jill, Africa – Matt [1st outing]

Plus audition songs for Duncan – Ide Were and Java Jive
